About Pindrop
Pindrop Press is a small, independent poetry press based between Scotland and France with its headquarters in Glasgow. We publish collections of contemporary poetry and select books we feel passionate about, and create books that are not only beautiful to read but also to handle.
The press was founded in 2010 by Jo Hemmant and was handed over to Sharon Black, a Pindrop poet, in 2016.
If you would like to purchase any of our books, please visit the Bookshop. If you would like to order more than one book, please email the order to editor@pindroppress.com — thank you.
Sharon Black worked as a journalist for many years before beginning to write and edit poetry. She co-runs Gardoussel Retreat and Abri Creative Writing in the Cévennes mountains in the south of France. She has published 4 full collections of poetry: The Red House (Drunk Muse, 2022), The Last Woman Born on the Island (Vagabond Voices, 2022), The Art of Egg, (Two Ravens, 2015; republished Pindrop, 2019), To Know Bedrock (Pindrop, 2011), and a pamphlet, Rib (Wayleave, 2021).
* In 2019, Sharon was interviewed by Maria Isakova Bennett for The Honest Ulsterman about her role as poet and editor. You can read the interview here.
